The "Basic" turn-off assistance system for vehicles without S1R is available immediately.

For the vehicle series Atego (967), Actros, Antos and Arocs (963, 964), which cannot be retrofitted with the Mercedes-Benz Turn-off Assist S1R, a "Basic" turn-off assist system is now also available as a retrofit.

The "Basic" turn-off assistance system is an object detection system for collision avoidance based on a 24 GHz radar system.
The system increases the safety of unprotected road users when turning right for medium and heavy commercial vehicles (> 3.5 t).
The radar sensor uses frequency modulation to measure speed, reflectivity, angle and other parameters of multiple targets simultaneously. This makes it possible to distinguish between vulnerable road users and other objects.

In contrast to ultrasound-based systems, there are far fewer disturbing false alarms.
This provides the driver with a reliable aid that increases safety when turning.
The cornering assistance system, basic can be retrofitted to Atego, Antos, Actros and Arocs 4/5 without F6T MirrorCam.
The system cannot be switched off and is therefore eligible for de minimis funding.
